Hi,
My AC does not work. Cooper S 2007. It was filled up and apparently passed the leak-down test but it just doesn't blow cold.
I can hear the relay click when I hit the button.
I directly connected a battery to the clutch coil and I thought I could hear it click, but it was very faint.
I measured the coil resistance as 3.7 Ohms. That seems very low to me, it would draw about 35 Watts at 12 Volts. Does anyone have experience here? I'm thinking I have a shorted coil.
If the coil is shorted, is it really much easier to change the clutch than swap out the whole compressor? I guess at least it wouldn't need a re-gas.
Thank you!
