Hi chaps,
My Mini One 2003 has developed a distinct rattling when going over the slightest uneven road surface.
It appears to be coming from the back but it is quite hard to be sure with head stuck out of window driving along.HaHa.!!
Anyway ..If I put handbrake on slightly whilst driving the noise / rattle is still evident.However if I touch the brake pedal the noise disappears until I release the pedal again...
Your thoughts will be most welcome..

I recently purchased a manual 2011
MCS Cabrio. I
love the car, but I'm confused about a couple of things. In the owners manual it says that I can enter the SET/INFO and adjust settings like whether the indicators flash once or three times when just 'flicked', reset the TPMS, and change other settings that are stored for each key.
My car has none of this: in the SET/INFO menu all I can do is adjust the auto wipers sensitivity, check for any messages and return HOME (exit the edit menu). Nothing more.
Are the other features detailed in the owners manual options that aren't fitted to my car (the ability to adjust the indicators? really?) or do the functions need to be enabled somewhere? What am I missing?
Also, I have heated full-leather seats. I understand that there are two levels of leather – gravity and lounge – but I haven't been able to discover what's the difference between them and which one I have. How do I tell?

Hello, I am based in Southampton in the UK - I currently have a Mini Cooper S but unfortunately have to sell it but I'm hoping to replace it with a
JCW in the not too distant future so will be keeping an eye on the forums for that more than my current Mini.

Hi All,
I picked up my Cooper S Coupe on Thursday last week ... and have to say I'm loving it! Gets admiring looks & comments everywhere I take it :)
Also just to share, I bought it from Bowker Mini in Blackburn - I'm based 300 miles away from this dealership, but they made the process so easy, the car was all ready for me when I got there ... and they went out and got me lunch for free as I had such a long journey there!
Top marks for them, I would definitely recommend them to anyone thinking of buying a MINI, it's worth travelling that extra distance to get the kind of service they offer.

Hey you guys, when i try to unlock my doors with the key button the passenger side unlocks but not the drivers side. I have to stick the key in the door and unlock it like that.
When I us the key to lock the doors it works fine. Both doors lock.
Anyone know this one?

Hi everyone,
Just bought a 2008 mini cooper with 49,000 miles from garage. After running for 2 days i have noticed some faults with it, wondering if anyone can help before i take it back to garage.
The heater is only blowing mildly warm air when turned hot as posible, the fan keeps running after shutting down even when car still cold, the auto stop/start not working. Could all these be linked? The garage claimed to have fitted a new radiator and temp sensor before i bought the car. I have checked coolant level and seems fine.
Another seperate issue is an intermittent knocking from near the drivers side wheel area usually over rough road.
Any help would be appreciated.

Before I go to a mechanic, can someone help me with the following issue please? I was driving and all of a sudden, my traction control error (pic attached) came on, then like 30 seconds after, the engine switched off on its own, and it wouldn't turn on again. I kept pressing the start button with the clutch down and wouldnt come on (just the sound of the engine wanting to switch on). It's a 2007 Cooper D. Engine light came on and then went off after. The car did switch on in the end, and I arrived safely.

DSC lights on, I have a snap on ethos scanner which has given me codes for steering angle sensor signal and steering angle sensor internal, From looking at the steering angle data I found the steering angle to be incorrect, it is not at 0 degrees whilst in a central position, so I know I need to calibrate the steering angle sensor, my scanner does not calibrate steering angles so I contacted a friend who has a snap on modis which has the function to do this, he tried to do this but every time he clicked on the steering angle calibration button it just would not respond? A mechanic suggested only BMW dealerships can can do this? Can anyone tell me if this is correct?
Any other advice that could help me solve this fault would be very appreciated

I got back from a deployment of 7 months and my mini will not start.
It sounds like its trying to start but won't turn over. I try to push the gas pedal in and the engine wont rev up. I replaced the battery before i left and it was working fine before. All the fluids were changed as the car worked for a week before giving out. New fuel filter was put in. engine light is on as well as an exclamation mark.
Any advice on where to start or what may be the problem?

Hi, ive got a '04 cooper s and just recently the ASC symbol lights up if I put my right foot down,it will stay on for sometimes 2/3 days then its gone again, I took it to a garage and they are stumped! On short journeys and driving real slow there's no warning light,any help would be very welcome.

Hi there
Not had my S for long now. Around 5 months. I love it ... trouble is think i may have loved it abit too much as it were.
Few days i took a hump back bridge abit too fast and ended up getting abit of 'air'. Landed fine and thought id got away with it but now im wondering if i have caused damage or just coincidence.
As Recently it has lost that go kart steering feel and feels alot more 'loose' feedback through the wheels and general steering. Also might be my imagination but can feel impurities in the road alot more.
Added to that i start car today and it stuttered and would not idle and was running really badly and went into limp mode. EML warning light came on.
Situation now is EML light isnt on anyway and idles ok ( engine managment light still on ) . However when i rev it , it makes an odd noise that i havent heard before.
I know its hard to guess and easy to speculate but any ideas ? im just hoping my bridge encounter hasnt cost me alot of money =(

Hi everyone,
having an absolute nightmare and wondered if anyone had any advice or has had a similar problem!
Recently, both of my mini key fobs (used and spare) have had the battery die completely, they aren't recharging and need new batteries. That's all well and good but as its christmas and whatnot, I can't afford to pay a small fortune for a new key just yet.
id be more than happy to use the internal key for now, but every time time I unlock the car, the alarm isn't being deactivated and it goes off (loudly) every single time, which is driving me insane!
I have looked for advise on how to deactivate the factory alarm for a short time but all instructions suggest using the fob which obviously isn't an option. does anyone at all know how I could deactivate the alarm using the key or internal controls in the car? any help would be greatly appreciated!
