Sudden high fuel consumption

Dear All.

I love my MC07 but recently she has developed a ferocious appetite covering only 135 miles for the 3/4 of the tank!

I have since I own her, only used either BP ultimate or the best option from Shell.

Any idea why this is happening?

Cheers.

i just got my mini and know nothing of them bad idea. i frequently look at the manual but still have no idea what this symbol is. I got my mini Cooper Countryman S in June and now a little red triangle that has a smaller triangle within it appears. Says BRAKE FLUID.
What does that mean? am i low? do i need to top it off? change it? what? i got my oil done in august and have not driven it that often. so what is with this symbol!! also the little red car appears and it reads "SERVICE"

is it something i can fix? add? or do i have to deal with the dealership??

Hi all,
Been on the forum for some time now, but not done an introduction.
This is my first mini. Oct 2010 Cooper D with JCW kit.
Owned it since Nov 2012. All ok except the stop/start does not work, I think due to the battery getting low.
I will get a piccy on here soon. Just change computers and need to transfer the photos.

Interior Fan on full setting. Very little air coming out

$

My wife's 2012 mini cooper diesel interior fan appears to have issues. Even when it's on full it's only blowing out a minimal amount of air.

I've cycled all the options and it's the same on everyone of them.

The car does very little miles and the car does not get up to temp on the daily run to the train station.

When you turn the ignition on there is a picture of the car on a ramp. Now it's almost a year since we bought it so I assumed it was telling me it was time just for a check not a service as over that time my wife has only done around 2K miles if that.

Anyone give me a hint what this might be?

Thanks

hi, I'm just after some advice, I'm after a bit more noise from my BOV. Can anyone recommend a cheap kit, or do I need the full kit? Also, are there any problems that come with changing the BOV. It's a cooper s R56.

Hi Forum,
Just a quick introduction...
I'm 45 yrs old, married with 3 kids (17yrs,15yrs & 8yrs) and live on the Northside of Brisbane.
I don't yet have a Cooper S but actively looking and hoping that through the knowledge, experience and opinions of other Forum Members I can choose the right Cooper S which I aim to purchase early in the new year.
Once chosing the right vehicle I hope that I can enjoy using the same vast experience and expertise of the members to chose the best mods to transform the Cooper S into the Pocket Rocket that I am told they can become with the "Right Stuff"
I am an Automotive Mechanic by trade (not currently on the tools) and I am looking forward to working with my 15yr son (a budding car enthusiest) in doing some of the modding and tuning etc as a fun thing to do together.
I have a family car which i intend eventually leaving in the garage until required for a family trip and use the Cooper S as my daily driver.

So G'day to all the forum members and I look forward to annoying you with many questions about what's good and what's not.... :p

Cheers...

Reserve light bulb

As an issue hates being lonely, the driver side reverse light of my MC07 is no longer working, so I went and purchased a new bulb and after fighting and struggling I have managed to take the old one out and replaced it with a brand new bulb but I still have a warning ( yellow bulb) coming on the OBC and it's still not working...

Any idea why?

PD: this happened just after having my car washed...:confused:

supercharger fail?

hey guys,
my mini r53 2002 started making a rattling noise in the engine about 2 months ago. I didn't give much attention to it and recently it got worse. Today as i parked the car the fan started to work and i looked at the temperature which was rising up dangerously so i turned off the car. The car had no water in the water tank even though i had checked it 2 weeks ago. i put some water in the car and i headed home and the engine light turned on and when i pressed the throttle full, the car after 2.500 rpm was not working properly, the supercharger whining didnt sound and it sounded like it was coughing.!!
is it the supercharger? approximately what are the costs for these stuff? for a new one or restoration
thanx a lot

Hi Everyone!

Hi Everyone! I am a (almost) new MINI owner! "Clive" should arrive in the next few days. I AM SO EXCITED! I will post some pics when he gets here. I honestly don't even know all of his features.

To make a long story short, the original MINI I was looking at was purchased "out from under me" and my AWESOME dealership in San Antonio, Tx found Clive for me just as he was getting on the boat to "cross the pond". I am anxious to meet him!

Does anyone else name their MINIs? I have always named my cars.

Part fell out from under my Countryman!

Hi all,

I hope someone can help me. My wife was parking up on the driveway when she had a noise and a part fell out (which looks like a holder of some sort - I attach a photograph of it). It is a plastic clip with a piece of rubber that seems to sit inside it. Does anyone know what this is?

Thanks in advance
