BMW has officially announced that it will be boosting MINI production numbers, and investing a hefty $388 million into the United Kingdom based operation.
MINI currently has six vehicles in its stable, but is going to boost its lineup to a total of ten different options. The new vehicles will consist of a five-door station wagon, a small van and a notchback sedan. A coupe version of the four-door Countryman is already confirmed for production, and will be called the Paceman. A small cargo hauler, called the Clubvan(pictured above), has also been officially announced by the company.
An updated version of the classic MINI Cooper is due to be unveiled in 2013, the chassis from which will also underpin the new station wagon.
The $388 million investment will be delivered to company before the end of 2015, and is going to be directed to the companies operations in the UK and the Netherlands.
