Hi. It's an '04 facelift cooper s with 57000 on the clock. 3000 miles ago I had a full service done by my local mechanic. Replaced oil, filters, plugs, serpentine belt and one of the wheels bearing there-dont know the name- also engine and gearbox mount had been replaced with poly once... Everything was sound until few weeks ago i srated hearing these noises and I thought timing chain tensioner... So I had it changed and noises are still there.
Main noise is when engine warm and left on idle its like a vibrating noise but only when warm.
Other one is when accelerating and getting to 3000rpm. When accelerating gently everything ok and quiet but when you floor it at any gear when you see 3k rpm its like crunching noise for a second and then nothing strange till red line and the same on next gear...
I do have a problem with release bearing you can hear it vibrating when clutch released when you press the clutch noise is gone. Its not even allways with that bearing...
Any ideas regarding these noises? Is it all clutch related?
Anybody from Nottingham area that would like to have a look? Let me know will be very helpfull
