For those of you with 17" or bigger wheels please be extremely careful if you stick your hand in the wheels to clean the insides.
On my SD with 18"'s the edge of the rear disc dust plates are as sharp as a razor. The inside of the wheel is quite visible and being light gray shows the muck quite clearly.
On other cars I've always pushed the sponge through the spokes and wiped round the wheels inside. But first time I did it on the Countryman I ended up with a nasty cut across the back of my hand which really should have been stiched.
I'm amazed that Mini (BMW) allow their assemblers to use parts with such sharp edges. I know my company will not allow anything with a burr or sharp edge on the shop floor.
So any way be careful.
