Just went to start my car this morning and the battery is totaly dead.I was using the car yesterday and all was fine and the battery was showing green in its little chamber(meaning all good) a couple of weeks ago.Now shows insufficent charge.No warning lights have come up about not charging etc.The strange thing is i think i forgot to lock it last night as it was unlocked this morning,could that somehow have drained it? I have now jump started it and had a 20 mile drive but the inpection hole is still not the right colour(on the battery.2 questions ,is it best to take the battery off to give it a good charge and to take it off i have to take the cradle off? take the vent pipe off? take the leads off ? is that all and will i have to reset anything once reconnected? Thanks for any help.Last thing bmw say new battery is £111 is there a replacement cheaper that is the exact match,i want a good one as need the car for work etc.It need to be the say amp ,have the vent hole etc.The car is a cooper s supercharged 2006 model.
