r50 key fob
hi, basicly the problem i am having is that my central locking is not working properly at range. i believe that the problem lies in the key fob. it works when close to the recever above the wind screen and works from quite a distance if i take the key fob circuit board out and touch the chip at the top of the board then unlock/lock the car. i am thinking that the fob transmitter may have gone bad. does any one know where on the board it is located and if a replacment can found online. i realy hate handing money over to the stealers when i can do it my self and would prefer to fix it my self if possable.

Faulty NEW MAP sensor?
Hi i had an DSC light come on and had error code of P0108 faulty MAP sensor i replaced the sensor and cleared the code, only for the DSC light to come on again and P0107 error code to appear.
I have checked the wiring harness and all looks ok, so i am assuming that the sensor is faulty.
As this is a new sensor could it possibly be a faulty? as this error code only appeared when the new MAP sensor was fitted.
Any help would be appreciated as i'm losing the plot now with this error code.

Mini Cooper R50 Steering Wheel Controls
Hi All,
I had a plastic two spoke steering wheel in my 2005 cooper.
I have just changed it for a leather Cooper S two spoke wheel. This is a MFSW with radio controls and cruise.
I dont care about cruise control, but how do I get the radio buttons to work? There doesnt look to be a socket to fit the larger plug on my car. What is the best way to do this?
I thought it would be a blank socket, I didnt think it would be different for a car who has steering controls and a car that doesnt, especially considering mine is a cooper and these do come with MFSWs too sometimes.
Any help, is hugely appreciated.

Diagnostic revealed error S 0012- no communication to transmission control unit.(see attached diagnostic report)

I need some help
I have a 2003 mini cooper s. It has 90,000 miles on the engine. There is a "hissing" sound from the throttle body under the hood. I press on it and it stops, I let go and it's back to "hissing" again. I'm not to sure if it's the Throttle Body or the Throttle Position Sensor.

Upgrade's to 06 Cooper S
Hi all
Just bought a 06 cooper s about a month ago.
Looking to do some upgrades was thinking about getting rid of the alloys and run flats and going for some black 17" ones. Do people think go with mini ones or another make?
What tyres people recommend heard good things about Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tyres
Then a bit of tinting on back windows probably 20%.
Looking at changing the side indicators to black ones and the front indicators to the cool one's from newministuff.
Any other suggestions to performance or styling

Removal of airbag light bulb - Cooper R50
Hi,
I'm looking to remove the airbag light bulb from the central display in a Mini Cooper R50. Are there any guides or useful instructions that show how to remove the instrument cluster and dismantle so that I can remove the bulb/short it if not easily removable?

Fault 610D Electric Steering Rack Replacement
Thanks for any sound suggestions.
Wife hit a pothole on right front.
Ruined the tire.
Tire replaced.
Steering she says is now tighter/stiffer for her
to turn.
Local GM dealer scanned and said 610d stored fault code.
Electric steering rack needs replaced.
I raised it on my lift and see nothing unusual.
The wheel was not damaged - only the tire.
Anyone before me - lived through the electric steering
issues on 2011 - 2014 models?
I also understand that I will need to center the steering -
Looking at buying a Bosch scan tool by the name of Autoboss
which I am told will do the job.
Anyone used it to get er done?

Climate Control A/C problem
Dear all, can you please help? As I have a very strange problem which not even at the dealer was solved!!
I have a MINI ONE D 2006. Great car, but when it comes to the Climate Control / AC....... No comment.
This summer I started noticing that the condenser fan is only running on idle with the AC on and it is getting very cold. When I drive and condenser cools down the fan stops and there is no cooling any more. Can you please give me your opinion or possible solution!!

Mini roadster 2012 front replacement
Hi All
Apologies if this is in the wrong group.
Iv had a devistating day. Iv managed to drive my car into a wall. Now before you say women drivers I am professional car racer who normally only crashes on the track... however today I stupidly wore sandles and my shoe got stuck under the pedal and I drove the car into a wall as I was parking at work. Word to the wise never drive in sandles. Never the less Iv scratched all of the front and bumper. I baught the car in April from a mini garage and still have a years warranty and under 5 years free servicing. I want to replace the front I'm guessing this type of thing isn't covered in that and I'm willing to pay to get it fixed however because I have the 2 years servicing left. If I go to get it fixed other than a mini garage will I loose this. Also has one had this done before and how much roughly did it cost. As this isn't the standard chilli pack colours I would assume it's going to be a little more than standard. If anyone has any information please could you let me know. Picture down below

Which year should I try to get second hand
Hi there. New to the forum so thank you in advance for any help.
I'm looking to get a mini convertible for my wife and I'm wondering if there were any significant upgrades in any particular year.
I want to spend between 4,5k and 6,5k (I think). Should I try to get as recent a model as possible but lower spec or is it fine to go older but higher spec?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Turbo hunting
Hi all,
Hopefully there is some of you had experienced this, i had some problem on my mini. I had the turbo seem like to be hunting everytime i accelerate. I am thinking of my turbo wastegate actuator was leak or something. Now i have check engine warning on.

service intervals & dealer vs non dealer stamp
Had my cooper s coming up a year now and it will be 3yrs old in Aug. Dealer contacted me to say service is due Aug 15.
Just wanted to know if I should stick to mini dealer or go to independent garage..... From what I can see my car had a predelivery check in June 2012 and then it is stamped for break fluid oil & micro filter at 6611 miles July 2014. (Now have 16000 miles on the clock)
Looking to keep my car for a good few years yet so when it comes to resale will it make much if a difference if dealer stamped or not?
Cheers for any advice.
