I am the proud owner of YW03 EAC, a 2003 MINI Cooper S JCW Stage 1 Tuning.
I bought it for £5k back in May.
It has developed some problems since I have been using it. It has definately lost power. I drove a new MINI Cooper s Coupe and it seemed to have more power than mine.
PROBLEM#1
When I put my foot down, all the way down, the car stutters during acceleration. Seems to happen more in the lower gears (esp 2/3). The clutch is very heavy (why is this?) and sitting in traffic it hurts my left leg. Having this problem really sucks, I did a full service at my local garage (not official) and they changed the oil and oil filter and sparkplugs and checked the exaust etc but still the problem is there. Is it fuel filter or fuel injectors? Is it the accelerator pedal cutting out? Idk. They couldn't get an official fuel filter for me so they told me to order one (I made another thread for where to buy one UK)
PROBLEM#2
Over about 4K revs, sometimes 3.5 sometimes 4.5 it makes this nasty hmmm grinding noise. This just started to happen recently I swear. It's not really a whine. Or maybe it is a whiny grinding noise. This worries me. I intended to race with this car but not with these 2 issues. I dont want to put words in your mouth but this seems like a supercharger issue to me.
Oh it has 76,000 miles on it.
Bought it on 74K.
The HK amp had blown so i installed an aftermarket h/u with new front speakers and a under passenger seat subwoof :)
I also need to know where to buy boost gauge / exhaust for the UK. I really like the EVO or the digital display ones.
