My introduction:-
My names Leon and I'm new to the wonderful world of mini. I bought a 2001 R50 Mini Cooper 7 weeks ago solely as a stop gap between selling my 3 series BMW and waiting for my new Mercedes c class.
7 weeks later I've fallen massively for my mini and now want to keep it, the merc can do one!
As im now keeping the mini I want to fix a few little things that are not working and my 1st stop is the Rev counter computer. I've been told the mine only displays the outside temp as there's no select button on the indicator stalk. This is fine but it doesn't work. The display flashes up all sorts of characters, sometimes doesn't work at all and on the very rare occasion will show the outside temp for a minute or so before flashing up a load of rubbish again.
My question to you all is this:-
Is this a problem others have experienced?
Can this be fixed?
Is it a relatively easy repair or an expensive nightmare?
