Hi to all fellow mini owners, just took my car in to my local mini dealer for a service to find out my timing chain needs replacing, now I've got extended warranty with a company called Mapfre Abraxas, they as saying that they will not cover the cost of replacing the timing chain as it's wear and tear so now I've got to shell out £800. I was thinking though that it can't come under "wear and tear" as it's a CHAIN not a belt & mini ensure me that a chain has a lifetime guarantee and shouldn't need changing unless it rattles, car is only 4 years old and been serviced every 6 months at main dealer so I'm going to try and push for them to cover this as I don't think it's classed as wear and tear it's a mechanical fault, could anyone please shed some light or suggestions as what else I could say to the company to make them swing in my favour? Please help!!!!
