Oil leak mini cooper s 05 reg

Hi

Wondering if anyone can help recently bought a cooper s and been looking it over underneath tonight and noticed oil pn bottom of the engine where it joins the gear box and also some oil horrible stuff at back of engine on some pipes any common problems for this or can anyone have a guess.
