Radio Aerial / Antenna Connection in Boot

Hi

This is my first post and i am hoping someone can help me out!

My 07 (R56) Mini Cooper has the dreaded radio interference caused when the rear window demister is activated.

i have taken the internal cover off the hatch/boot and have temporarily disconnected the aerial/antenna connection from the rear window, which has resolved the problem. However not suprisingly my overall radio performance is now not that great, with low level but regular interference.

My question is this: the aerial connection to the rear window has three wires; red, white (if i remember correctly) and black. Does anyone know exactly what the three wires relate to?

I ask because i can easily get an aftermarket in-screen replacement aerial strip, which i can place away from the rear window, and wire it into the existing connections. But the aftermarket strips are only two wire connections, not three.

I am guesssing that the red and white wires represent the left and right strips running down the window and the black is a combined return/earth. Would this be correct?

Please let me know if this is correct or let me know if they have a different arrangement.

Many thanks,

Rog.
