Since I got my clubman in 2008 my headlights have always been a bit useless. I've tried putting new brighter bulbs but I still have the same issue. Dipped beam doesn't light far enough ahead - main beam lights too far in the distance. Having driven my partner's Ford Ka, which has excellent headlights, I noticed that when you shift to main beam the light from the dipped beam stays on and more light is added above. The mini swaps between the two parts of the bulb. Should the dipped beam part of the bulb stay on and the high beam bit be added like on the Ka? Are my headlights broken?
