Convertible Troubles...

Hey guys, me again.

For a while now I've been noticing a tiny jingling sound, like there was something loose in my car. It wasn't constant so I never really bothered to look for a problem; I just thought maybe I had a rock or something in my tire. However, a couple days ago I noticed that the convertible roof on the passenger rear side has come loose. I'm freaking out because we're supposed to be getting a LOT of rain soon, and I don't have a garage to park Marley in. But upon further investigation today, I noticed that one of the clips that holds the top down has broken, like you see in the first picture. Attachment 165813

Then I climbed inside my car and looked, and whala, there's the jingling noise I noticed. It's a metal clip (as seen in picture 2). Attachment 165814

Then I got back outside and looked, and it's very clear that the broken plastic clip is supposed to fasten around the metal jingling clip (picture 3). Attachment 165815

Now, my question is: Do I have to take this to a MINI dealer to have it fixed, and if so, how much is it going to cost? OR, can I take it to a friend of ours (he has an upholstery shop and deals with convertibles all the time)?

Thanks a ton in advance! :)

PS - sorry for the grainy pictures
