Well, that's an exaggeration. I recently came into a little coin and decided to update my 05 Mini convertible. I definitely wanted an "S" model as I was getting tired of seeing 3000 rpm on the clock at 60MPH. With the tighter gearing with the higher HP, the S runs around 2200 rpm. I wanted the Spicy Orange, but alas there were none to be had at the local dealers, but one of them did have a British Racing Green which I would have accepted. Down to the dealer for a test drive and it was fine. Much better than my '05. However, time was running out so I made an appointment to complete the deal the next morning.
The next morning I show up and before starting the final dance, I ask about one of the other colors the dealer has. While looking at this other model, I see a Roadster in SPICY ORANGE! So I take a gander at it, ask for a test drive and now I ONLY want a roadster. All I can say is WOW. A real boot in the rear verses the tiny compartment in the regular convertible. In my mind, the regular convertible is really a 2 passenger car anyway so why not get the real thing.
So, I'm real happy I didn't get the regular "S" convertible. This may be the most fun car I've ever owned in my 56 years of car ownership. It looks smashing and drives like a dream.
