2010 JCW Satnav DVD drive noisy

On my vehicle (early 2010 build) you can hear the Satnav DVD drive constantly "seeking" even when not using the navigation at all...

Anybody know a way to suppress this WITHOUT removing the disc (I do use the satnav from time to time)?
