Intermittent Oil Warning Light Problem

I have a 2010 facelift R56 which I purchased earlier this year (luckily from a main dealer!)

On long straight roads (i.e. motorways, dual-carriageways, etc.) and when doing a constant (but usually high) speed, when decelerating or taking foot off the accelerator the red oil warning light comes on for about 1-2 seconds and then goes off. This is intermittent and not possible to recreate all the time. The light has never come on going around roundabouts or corners or going over hump-back bridges.

Took car in yesterday for diagnostics and received a call last night to say that the technician had found a major problem and the car must not be driven. It seems there is oil getting into the ECU which needs relplacing but parts are on back order from Germany. I will try to post more precise details when I have them.

Waiting for a call from Mini Assist who have promised me a replacement car by 11:30 this morning.

My dealership had never seen this problem before and were quite surprised when I initially reported the circumstances under which the problem arrises.

My advice - if your oil light does this, get it checked out asap.
