Looking for an opinion on the cause of this noise:

The car drives perfectly well, and accelerates fine, but it has this tapping noise that increases with engine speed that is most noticeable between 3,000 rpm and 4,000 rpm, beyond which it's hard to tell if it's still there or not.
Anyone heard anything similar? I'm thinking it could be the harmonic damper.
The car is a NOV 02 build with 106,000 miles on the clock.
