replace air-con with climate

Hi i have a problem with most of the air con switchgear on my R56 Cooper, theres only a few buttons left working.

Has anyone ever tried replacing the air-con module with the digital climate control?
Is it a straightforward swap out?
Or do i need to keep it std?
