Okay, thanks to the extremely bad design of the hub + strut pinch bolt, I've had to replace my hub.
Got a 2nd hand one, still had attached the balljoint, brake disc, wheel bearing, abs sensor.
Removed the brake disc, amazingly the retaining screw came out (yet another poor design).
Removed ball joint as I had new replacements.
Thought it best to get a new wheel bearing as I've no idea whether this 2nd hand one is knackered or not.
Now, during all this I was very careful not to touch the abs sensor.
Put everything back together (along with new suspension :) )...
And I now get ABS light on dash (along with ASC & flat tyre).
So maybe the old abs sensor was knackered?
Is it worth trying to remove my old sensor (from hub with sheared pinch bolt)?
Or new abs sensor? are the £10 ones on ebay really unreliable? surely a sensor is a sensor, it works or it doesn't?
Or could it be the new (very cheap, £26) wheel bearing (magnetic ring or whatever they have in them)?
