bmw service intervals..confuse me!!

Ok so I am still totally lost when it comes to bmw/mini service intervals..

Seen a 2005 r53 with approx 65k on the clock and 'full' history..

After enquiring the stamps are at..

Pre delivery check
Oil service at 10178miles
Inspection 1 service at 28015miles
Inspection 2 service + oil change at 58531miles

Is this correct? Personally can't get my head around it ....to me that is no where near enough as far as maintenance..always felt like any less than a yearly service or atleast oil change is criminal...
