R56 Keyfob disassembled

I recently bought a second hand JCW. It came with all the keys but one of the keyfobs was missing the little silver button that holds or releases the actual key inside it.

This annoyed me. So I bought myself a replacement keyfob from Ebay, only to discover afterwards (backwards research, d'oh!) that it would need to be coded by a dealer for a million pounds. Or something. No problem, thinks I. I'll just pull it apart and take the metal button out of the new one and stick it in the old one. Not so easy as it turns out - the keyfob is glued together, all the way around the edge. Using a combination of a very sharp scalpel (to cut the glue) and an electrical screwdriver I pried apart both keyfobs and swapped the PCB's over.

In the process I've 'chewed' the edges of the fobs, but it's covered by the chrome ring. And I stabbed myself with the scalpel. I also broke the plastic faux chrome ring but as it happens one of my fobs already had the replacement metal ring from newministuff.

Tested in the car and everything works perfectly.
