longer Y cable? Dashcam

Hi,

I've like to use a dashcam app for my iphone (record dodgy drivers and maniac cyclists!) and therefore need to have it in a cradle with a view out of the windscreen

Has anyone done this already? And if so how did you extend the Y cable and route it?

Happy to take bits of dash apart if needs be - having recorded video is worth it :)
